Dolmen Neu Gaarz
Dolmen Neu Gaarz

This dolmen was archaeologically investigated in 1967. With its the unusually long and angled entry it is exeptional. The passage of four wall stones and two capstones was 2 meters long, 0.8 meters wide and equallly high. The actual grave chamber is 2.8 meters long, 1.5 meters wide, and with 1.25 meters exceptionally high.
The capstone of the chamber and one of the side stones carry inserted cup marks. Such originated from ritual acts that may have served the extraction of mineral powder considered as beneficial. Quoted from the information plate.

Those graves were used for a whole kin. Built without entry passage tunnel, there was an opening for later burials. There are really huge stones, and sometimes gather in neighborhood to other dolmen. Originally, those graves were covered with soil.
