Grave mound Schneiderberg - Baalberge
Grave mound Schneiderberg - Baalberge

Amidst allotment gardens stands this neolithic grave mound. It was recognized as such already in 1710. When expored archaeologically in 1901, a stone chamber was discovered. It contained a can that defines the Baalberg type. Thus, this grave is one of the eldest neolithical artefacts in Germany.

Those graves were used for a whole kin. Built without entry passage tunnel, there was an opening for later burials. There are really huge stones, and sometimes gather in neighborhood to other dolmen. Originally, those graves were covered with soil.
