Seven Stonehouses D near Fallingbostel
Seven Stonehouses D near Fallingbostel

Graveyard of the first farmers of the late stone age Trichterbecher people. Not seven, but only five massive dolmen (A, B, C, D, E) are packed on the small cemetry. As this is military training area, there are temporal limitations for visits. To protect the dolmens, high earth walls have been built.
The group of the "Seven Stonehouses" has been marked 1923 as an important monument and since then protected by law. The two "missing" Graves did not exist in 1744.Four of the five Dolmens were examined archeologically between 1924 and 1937 and were reconstructed. Originally they were covered with earth mounds, which was not reproduced then. With information from the local info board.

Those graves were used for a whole kin. There are really huge stones, and sometimes gather in neighborhood to other dolmen. Originally, those graves were covered with soil. This can be seen clearly here as the surrounding stones remained, sometimes in part.
