Fussabdruckstein - Belm
Fussabdruckstein - Belm

This unobstrusive stone lies flat on the ground, and is hidden by leaves. It has a hollow that perfectly fits my boots. Probably this is the least prominent stone presented in the internet.

From Scandinavia in the Würm ice age much coarse boulder was shifted into northern Germany. Later on, many of them became dolmens and passage graves. Even more have been utilized for modern street building. I have collected some of the really big and well known ones to show them here. Whether those erratic blocks have had cult status, is difficult to examine. The southern German standing stones are easier to identify, because they are much more rare, or the original locations are astronomically extraordinary.
